What is 24/7 prescription pick-up?

We know our customers lead busy lives and that collecting prescriptions during working hours isn’t always convenient. To help, we’ve launched a 24/7 prescription pick-up service at selected pharmacies.

You can pick up your prescription from your local Well Pharmacy any time of the day, any day of the year, thanks to our automated collection points.

How does 24/7 prescription pick-up work?

Our 24/7 prescription pick-up service is simple and convenient. Just follow these three easy steps:

  1. Order your prescription with us.
  2. We’ll send you a text message with a unique number when your prescription is ready to pick up.
  3. Go to the automated collection point outside the pharmacy and enter your unique number using the touchscreen. Pay with your debit or credit card (the collection point does not accept cash), and your prescription will be dispensed to you.

Collecting prescriptions is as simple as that.

Are all prescriptions available for 24/7 prescription pick-up?

Not all prescriptions will be suitable for 24/7 prescription pick-up. We won’t be able to offer you the service if your prescription:

  • Has to be kept in a fridge
  • Is a controlled medication, such as morphine
  • Comes as a large or bulky item, for example, dressings 

Even if our 24/7 prescription pick-up service isn’t available for your medication, we can still text you to let you know when your prescription is ready to collect if you sign up to our text notification service.

How do I sign-up for 24/7 prescription pick-up?

To sign up, tell your pharmacy you'd like to use the 24/7 prescription pick-up service when you order your prescription. They'll check your medication is suitable, and that we have up-to-date contact information for you.

We need your up-to-date contact information if you want to use our 24/7 prescription pick-up service. 

Making sure we have your correct contact details also means we can get in touch with you for other matters too. We may contact you to make sure your medication is safe and appropriate for you, especially with medicines you've not had before. Or we’ll remind you if your prescription needs to be refilled.
