What is the medicated weight management service?
In combination with a calorie-controlled diet and exercise programme, our medicated weight management service can help you reach a healthy weight. You'll have a free first consultation with a Well pharmacist, who will explain how the service works and how to use it effectively.
Who is the service suitable for?
The service is available for people aged between 18 and 75, whose body mass index (BMI) falls within a specific range.
The service may be suitable for you if:
- Your BMI is 30 or above
- Your BMI is 27 or above and you have one underlying weight-related health condition (for example diabetes or hypertension).

You will have a consultation with a pharmacist to check the service is suitable for you, before receiving your weight loss treatment. You won't be charged until you've completed your consultation and the pharmacist has confirmed the service is suitable. The cost is then non-refundable. Book your consultation now.
How much does the service cost?
Our medicated weight management service costs £260 per month*. This includes a monthly consultation with one of our pharmacists, who will track your progress and provide information and advice to support you on your weight loss journey. Your suitability will be checked again at each consultation before you get your next month's weight loss treatment.
*You won't be charged until you've completed your consultation and the pharmacist has confirmed the service is suitable. The £260 cost is then non-refundable.

How the consultation process works
- Book your appointment online
Select a pharmacy, date and time that suits you. Unfortunately this service is currently only available at a limited number of pharmacies. - Go to your first in-pharmacy consultation
One of our pharmacists will check the medicated weight management service is suitable for you and explain how it works.
They will need to take some measurements from you, including your:
- weight
- height
- blood pressure
- waist circumference (this measurement is optional).
If the service is suitable for you to use, you'll pay for your weight loss treatment at this appointment. - Weekly phone check-ins for the first month
A pharmacist will call you every week for the first month, to check how you're getting on with your treatment and answer any queries you may have. - Monthly in-pharmacy consultation
You'll go back to the pharmacy each month to check your progress and that the service is still suitable for you, before paying for your next month of treatment.
