Mental Health Awareness Week
Move towards better mental health
The theme for this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week is movement. We all know exercise can have some big benefits for your mental health. It can improve mood, reduce stress, increase your self-esteem and boost your cognitive abilities.
Not everyone has the time or resources to go to the gym regularly. If you’re struggling with your mental health, it might feel overwhelming. But there are lots of types of movement you can do that help your mental health.
Some of these include:
- Going for a walk around your neighbourhood
- Gardening
- Playing sports or active games with friends
- Dancing to your favourite music
- Going bowling
- Doing some simple exercise or lifting weights while watching TV.
