Andrew joined Well in July 2023 as Chief Retail Officer taking on the responsibility for the Retail arm of the organisation, with the aim of driving growth and working with the teams to provide the best community pharmacy service.

Having started his professional journey with Boots in 1989 as a Pre-registration Pharmacist and spanning a 30-year career, Andrew has held a number of roles at Boots including: Retail and Pharmacy Operations Director, Director of Central Operations; and, most recently, Director of Prescription Services & Pharmacy Operations, with responsibility for the operations of all Boots pharmacies and the total prescription business including online. Andrew describes himself as a ‘people-orientated, results-driven and pragmatic leader’ and is motivated and driven by his belief and conviction in the vital nature of community pharmacy.

Andrew is looking forward to the challenge of driving growth in the pharmacy sector at Well and says: "My aim is to focus on making life as simple as possible for our store teams, from our operational processes to the tasks we ask them to do, to free them up to provide great care for our patients and customers and deliver new and added value services. I want to support the business to attract, develop and retain the best people to deliver our ambitions and I will work with the team to deliver a great healthcare OTC offer so we are the place to go for all our customers’ healthcare needs – all delivered by great, knowledgeable people."

Andrew lives in Hertfordshire and has 3 grown up children, the youngest of whom is now at university. He loves spending time with his family, cycling and is an avid supporter of Hibs (Hibernian FC).
