Our partnership with the Stroke Association
At Well, we’re passionate about providing personalised healthcare and wellbeing support to communities throughout the UK. We want our customers to make the most of their health and to make healthy lifestyle decisions to get well and stay well. That’s why we’re proud to support the Stroke Association, the UK’s leading charity dedicated to conquering stroke.
Our goal in 2017 is to raise £250,000 for the Stroke Association, but our partnership is about more than fundraising – it’s also about using our expert knowledge and skills to truly make a difference to people throughout the UK.
The Stroke Association is the UK’s leading charity dedicated to conquering stroke. They believe that stroke is preventable, treatable and beatable, and they work tirelessly to prevent stroke and ensure those who experience it get the help they need.
Stroke is the second biggest killer in the world, and the fourth biggest killer in the UK, but up to 80% of strokes are preventable. The Stroke Association’s work in stroke prevention provides support and advice to people throughout the UK, helping them to reduce their risk of stroke through exercise, diet and healthy living.
The charity also provides valuable services for people affected by stroke. Dedicated co-ordinators located in offices across the UK provide information, advice and support to those who need it, including stroke survivors and their families.
There are more than 100,000 strokes in the UK each year; that is around one stroke every five minutes.
